Our Philosophy

Client Image.jpg

It is the philosophy of BMGH that resident should be provided with the opportunity to be integrated into their communities.  This includes establishing natural connections for resident with people and activities that are self-sustaining and are not necessarily dependent on staff participation.

The staff of BMGH will assist residents in seeking opportunities to fulfill their goals.  Services provided are designed with the resident, their legally responsible person, and other team members to maximize the strengths of the resident, while providing support when appropriate.  This enables residents to live in a way that is both culturally normative and the least restrictive

Most importantly, the staff of BMGH facilitates self-advocacy and self-determination for residents.  Staff members believe, given the opportunity, residents can learn skills that reduce dependency, maximize self-sufficiency, improve independent living skills and increase self-esteem as well as community integration.

Planning processes are available to resident that focus on assisting with formulating and articulating their dreams and desires.  The person-center planning process is offered to each person served as a more in-depth planning process
